In spring 2025, Urban Paradise Guild hosted a Reef Town Hall at the Art Deco Museum on Ocean Drive — steps from the water it aims to protect. To a crowd of about 100 residents, UPG laid out the community case for the Miami Beach Marine Park.

The evening’s headline: Miami Beach Commissioner Laura Dominguez — who is sponsoring the marine park at City Hall — spoke in support, a clear signal the effort has real backing where it counts.

Held right on Ocean Drive, within sight of the reef itself, the town hall turned neighbors into advocates — and put the case for protection in front of the people who live and vote in Miami Beach.
